Refund policy
We make refunds when you ask, with no argument about why. This policy explains which payments can be refunded, when to ask and what happens to your plan or word pack.
Refunds at a glance
You can ask for a plan refund within 14 days of the first payment of each billing interval. Renewal payments are not refunded. Each word pack has its own 14-day refund window, with words already used deducted pro rata.
Cancelling and asking for a refund are different. Cancellation stops the next charge but does not return a payment. Refunds are not automatic, except when a second plan is opened by mistake and creates a duplicate charge.
Plan payments
Plans have monthly, semester and yearly billing intervals. A semester lasts four months. The refund window is 14 days from the first payment of each billing interval, not from every payment you make.
You do not need to give a reason for a refund within that window. We do not argue about why you want it.
A plan renews automatically at the end of its paid period until you cancel. A renewal is not a first payment and is not refundable under this policy. A monthly plan never becomes a yearly plan on its own.
Upgrades and billing interval changes
An upgrade takes effect at once. We charge your card the difference for the rest of the period.
If the upgrade changes your billing interval, such as monthly to yearly, it counts as the first payment of the new interval. You can ask for a refund of the difference charged within 14 days of that payment.
An upgrade within the same billing interval is not a first payment and does not start a new refund window. A downgrade takes effect at the end of the paid period, with nothing charged or refunded at the change.
Word packs
A word pack is bought for one tool, the AI detector, humanizer, paraphraser or summarizer, on any account, including a free account. Its words are used for that tool alone, after your plan's monthly words for it, and they last 12 months from purchase. Plan word allowances reset each billing month.
Each word pack has its own refund window of 14 days from its purchase. Buying another pack does not change the purchase date of an earlier pack.
Words already used are deducted pro rata. This means the refund is reduced in proportion to the words you have used from that pack.
Payments that are not refunded automatically
Cancelling your plan, moving to a lower plan or finding that a tool is unavailable does not trigger a refund. You still need to ask for any refund available under this policy.
Renewal payments are not refunded. An upgrade within the same billing interval does not create a new first payment or a new refund window.
Deleting your account does not trigger a refund either. Duplicate charges are the exception to the rule that refunds are not automatic.
Duplicate charges
If you open a second plan by mistake, for example in a second browser tab, we treat it as a duplicate charge, not as another purchase.
The duplicate plan is cancelled and its charge is returned automatically. You do not need to ask for this return. This is separate from the request-based refund rules for plan payments and word packs.
How to ask for a refund
Write to support@blurwrite.com from the email address you paid with. Include that email address in your request and tell us which payment you want refunded.
Make clear whether your request concerns a plan payment, the difference charged for an upgrade or a word pack. You do not need to explain why you want the refund.
A person answers within 24 hours. This is the response time, not a stated time for the money to appear on your card.
What a refund does
A full refund of the card payment for your current paid period ends the plan at once. It does not leave the plan active until the original end date.
A refund of an earlier period, of the difference paid for an upgrade or of part of a payment leaves the plan running.
A word pack refund takes back the words that the refunded amount paid for, as many as are left.
A refund does not delete your saved data. Saved data stays until you delete it or the account is closed.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the card that paid. This applies to refundable plan payments, upgrade differences and word packs.
Payments are handled by our payment processor. Your card details never reach our servers.
Cancelling instead
If you want to stop the next charge, you can cancel any time on the billing page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
Before that date, you can resume the plan and it renews as before. Cancellation alone does not ask for a refund or return your current payment.
If you want a refund as well as to stop future payments, write to us under the refund rules above.
Payment disputes
Please ask us first about a payment you want returned. A payment dispute with your bank, also called a chargeback, puts your plan on hold.
While the dispute is open, the plan does not renew. The plan comes back if the dispute is settled in its favour. You can contact us at support@blurwrite.com about the payment before raising a dispute.
Your rights
Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
