Acceptable use policy
This policy explains how you may use Blurwrite, what you must not submit or do, and what can happen if you break these rules. It covers your use of the tools, your account and the API. It is part of our terms of service.
Why this policy
These rules set out responsible use of the service, including respect for other people, the rights to content you submit and the limits that keep the tools available to everyone. We are a software company based in the United Arab Emirates.
You must be at least 13 to use the service. If you are below the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with the consent of a parent or guardian. The same acceptable use rules apply whether you use the service for free or through a paid plan.
Using the tools responsibly
You are responsible for how you use what the tools produce. This includes following the rules of your school, employer or publisher about AI help and about disclosing that help. Using a tool does not remove that responsibility.
A detector reading is an estimate, not proof of how a text was written. We make no promise about how another detector or an institution will assess your text. A result from our tools does not establish that your use meets the rules that apply to your work.
Detector readings about people
The detector estimates how a text reads to our model. It shows a range with a confidence rating. We publish measured error rates on the accuracy page so you can read about the detector's limits.
You must not use a detector reading as the only basis for a decision about a person. This includes decisions about grades, hiring, payment or discipline. A reading does not prove who wrote a text or how it was written, and its confidence rating does not change that.
What is not allowed
You must not use the service in any of the following ways.
- To break the law or submit unlawful content.
- To submit content you have no right to submit.
- To harm someone.
- To attack, overload or scrape the service.
- To get around service limits, including by opening many free accounts or rotating identities to obtain more free use.
- To submit other people's personal data when you have no right to process it.
- To submit content that sexualises minors or incites violence.
Limits
You must respect the service's limits rather than try to avoid them. Free use needs no card and provides a daily free run on each tool with a word cap. The caps differ for visitors without an account and for free accounts. The grammar checker, word counter and character counter have no cap. Daily limits reset at midnight UTC.
AI detection on paid plans comes with a monthly word allowance that depends on the plan, and word packs add to it. We may limit an unusual volume of use to keep the service available for everyone.
API use has limits on active keys, requests per minute, concurrent requests and monthly abuse. These are described on the API page. A call over a limit is refused with an error. Paid access does not allow you to get around these limits.
API and accounts
Each account is for one person. You must not share, sell or publish account access or an API key. You can sign in with email and password, or with Google. Keep your password and email account safe: anyone who can use them can sign in.
API access is available only on Pro. Your API key is for your own use, and you must keep it secret. Every call made with it counts against your plan. API calls use the same word pools as the site, not a separate allowance. Keys are stored only as salted hashes.
No model training
You must not use outputs from the tools or the API to train or build a competing model or service. This restriction applies to outputs you obtain through the site as well as through API access.
We do not train models on the text you submit.
Content you submit
Your text stays yours, and so does what the tools make from it. You let us process your text only to run the tool you asked for. We do not sell or share it.
Keeping ownership of your text does not remove the submission rules in this policy. You must have the right to submit the content and to process any other person's personal data it contains. Unlawful content, content that sexualises minors and content that incites violence are not allowed.
Reporting a problem
If you want to report use that breaks this policy, write to support@blurwrite.com. You can also write if you have a question about a rule or a problem with your use of the service.
A person answers within 24 hours.
What we do
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why. Serious or repeated breaches can end the account.
We may also limit unusual detection volumes. API calls that exceed an API limit are refused with an error.
Relation to the terms
This policy is part of the terms of service. Those terms are governed by the law of the UAE, and the courts of the UAE decide disputes. The English version prevails over any translation.
When this policy changes, we publish the new version here, with its date at the top of the page. A change to what you pay applies only if you accept it.
