Your voice does not need replacing
You may know exactly what you want to say but want help with articles, punctuation or the register of a sentence. Our grammar checker and paraphraser let you review changes rather than accept a new voice wholesale. Keep the expressions that carry your meaning, even when another phrasing is available.
If your writing is flagged, our reading still cannot prove who wrote it. Each supported language has its own calibration using human and machine writing, including non-native writing. We measure and publish false flags on non-native writers. That work matters, but it does not mean an individual reading is free from error.
Choose changes that sound like you
Review named grammar issues
Use the free, unlimited grammar checker without an account. Read each issue's category and proposed fix. Apply changes that express your meaning and ignore suggestions that do not fit.
Compare phrasing and register
Try the paraphraser's modes and registers for an unclear sentence. Review the changed words in its comparison view, then check whether the tone and meaning fit your purpose.
Use your writing as a reference
For an AI-assisted draft, the humanizer's Custom mode on Pro learns from your own writing sample. Review the rewrite against that sample rather than assume every change matches your voice.
Keep context if flagged
Keep drafts, notes and sources that show your process. Read the confidence rating and range, then ask a reviewer to discuss the passage with that context rather than treat a flag as proof.
Example: Keeping a clear formal sentence
In this fictional example, you check a formal explanation written in another language. The headline says "Likely AI-written" and "Our confidence" is Medium. You inspect the sentence marks and "Most machine-like sentences" and find a passage that states your main point plainly. You know how you developed that point from your notes, so you do not assume the mark means your wording needs to be replaced.
You read "Why this reading" for the length band and the independent model's reading. Then you review the passage for actual language issues. You accept a punctuation fix but keep the marked sentence because it expresses the intended meaning. You save the revised draft with your notes. If a reviewer raises a concern, you can discuss the passage's development without presenting the reading as proof in either direction.
Clearer wording that remains yours
You choose which edits belong in your writing. Grammar fixes can address specific issues, while phrasing options help you compare tone without replacing your voice. If a reading raises concerns, your writing record gives you material for a conversation. The reading remains uncertain evidence, not proof about you.
You do not need to make every sentence less predictable to write clearly. Expected phrasing can be useful when it states your meaning precisely. The detector reads those patterns in context, but it does not decide whether a sentence fits your purpose. Separate language questions from authorship concerns: an edit should solve an issue you can explain, not replace a clear expression merely because it received a mark.
Questions
Does calibration include non-native writing?
Yes, each language's calibration includes writing by non-native speakers. We measure and publish false flags on non-native writers alongside AI recognition on the accuracy page. Results have dates and separate calibration results from held-out tests. This testing does not prevent every error, so a reading is still evidence to review.
What can I show a reviewer if my writing is flagged?
Show drafts, notes and sources that help explain your writing process. Ask the reviewer to discuss the marked passage and consider the confidence rating and range. You do not need to erase your voice to respond to a flag. Human writing can be flagged, and a result is not proof about you.
Can I get grammar help without an account?
Yes, the grammar checker is free and unlimited without an account. It reviews grammar, spelling, punctuation, style and typography. Each issue names its category and gives you a fix to apply or ignore. Paid plans add clarity suggestions. Keep control of the edits so your wording still says what you intended.
How do registers and Custom mode differ?
Paraphraser registers offer wording choices, while the humanizer's Custom mode on Pro learns from your own writing sample. Use the paraphraser's comparison view to inspect changed words. Use Custom for an AI-assisted draft when you want your writing as a reference. Review either result for meaning and voice, not a detector outcome.
Can I check writing in a language other than English?
Yes, the detector reads every language listed on the accuracy page, with a calibration fitted separately for each language. Review the testing for the language of your passage rather than applying results from another language. English currently has an additional indication in "Why this reading" for text that reads as AI-edited or humanized. That indication is still a reading, not proof of a process.
Why does a short passage give less useful evidence?
A short passage gives the detector less surrounding context to read. Very short text receives no reading, while short text receives Low confidence. Checking a complete passage can provide more context, but it does not eliminate errors. Do not add filler just to obtain a result. Use the text you actually need to write and treat any reading within its stated limits.
Will paraphrasing settle a concern about authorship?
No, paraphrasing cannot settle a concern about authorship. Our detector was trained with rewritten and paraphrased machine text, and a reading still cannot establish who wrote a passage. Use paraphrasing to compare wording when a sentence is unclear, not to establish ownership through a changed result. Review the changed words for meaning and keep your own account of how the text developed.
